So since my waterpump is leaking, i decided to go and replace it with an electric one, i have never done this, i looked under the hood and it seems like it will be simple and east to get to. i will remove fan and radiator since i got to drain coolant anyways to do this.
i would like to know if anyone has a write-up on how to install the ewp, will it just bolt right in and then just hook up a 12v + to it?

Lots of people using CSI and many other using Meziere.
Both are good quality units and easy to install.
I've even seen someone use the Meziere HD pump (it required a little more cutting)
Use a relay, you don't want it to be on all the time, or have to manually turn it on.
I used the cooling fan power circuit as a trigger, which worked out very well.
Here's an excellent install article

You'll love it
Two things:
1) Double-check your wiring, make sure the pump fires up before you go on a test drive.
(with the hood up) You should be able to hear the relay click and the pump run.
2) Make sure you mix water and coolant properly.
Too much of either can cause you cooling issues.

do you have to work from the bottem? i have full access to a lift so its no biggie but it looks like it can all jsut be done from the top. other then draining the coolant of course.
I just jacked the front up high enough to slip under with a creeper.
Just don't drop the water pump on your head, it's heavy
The last few bolts are kinda hidden (4 short ones at the base of the "legs")

Quick Q on th ewp that I haevnt seen before. Do you plug the hole the shaft comes of from the timing cover (not the pump housing) ? I will be doing the install next week and none of the install guides Ive seen mention this hole or what to do with it. Thanks
So is there a hole in the timing cover then? Wouldnt oil leak out? Pardon my ignorance. BTW, the pump I bought came off the board here and is already assembled with plug.
The shaft that comes out of the timing cover stays in, and just free spins behind the water pump. The shaft will seal the hole. The only way to get the water pump drive shaft, and related parts out is to pull the timing cover, timing chain, and intake manifold. I ran mine with the shaft still installed for 6 years. Since I had the motor out of my car this winter I decided to remove everything, and plug the hole in the timing cover.
