In need of serious LT4 hotcam kit help

Im looking at picking up the LT4 hotcam kit and bbk headers for a really good price.

with a good tune and headers, how much hp will this LT4 kit add and can i use all the LT4 hotcam valvetrain if i want to use a more aggressive cam and portwork?

these are my mods
10" 2800 stall coan converter, beefed tranny, supreme shift, motive 373 gears,3 inch catback with a flowmaster muffler, pcmforless tuned, slp cold air intake,tb bypassed, better flowing intake elbow, air foil, poly trans mount.
275/40/17 Nitto NT555R extreme drags in rear

LT4 valvetrain can barely support the hotcam as it is. Go for NSA rockers, guide plates, hardened pushrods, and some REAL springs if you want to support a more aggressive cam later on.

I wouldn't even use the lt4 springs with the lt4 hotcam. If you had LT4 heads with the lighter valves thats a different story, but you dont.

Its not a bad kit, I just wouldn't use the springs. If you are getting a good deal on it that you can't pass up, then get it and just spend some extra to get better springs.

sounds like a bunch of parts that are gonna leaving you wish you'd spent more

shorty headers and a baby cam = lots of regret after all the hassle you go through

+1
I regret my entire LS1 build because I used the conservative, found a deal approach.
This time I'm going straight for the performance goal with each purchase - or not buying anything.
if that will be enough power for yo(and we all are never satisfied ) then it's a good kit and headers with better springs. Mild gains for the effort.

honestly I didn't go with a monster cam, I went with the cc503 and I plan on carrying it over to my 355 build since it works well with my convertor and drives excellent, plus I'm a nitrous car, n/a times don't concern me too much lol

You will probably be around 330hp to the wheels with a hotcam kit. However, I have seen people with 350 to the wheels (dyno proven).

I definitely wouldn't use the same valvetrain if you went with a more aggressive cam. Thats asking for trouble. That valvetrain will be perfect though with the hotcam. Keep in mind that going with a more aggressive cam will change ALOT of things about your car. Driveability and gas mileage being the most major considerations. Make sure you do alot of research (use the search button) before you decide on a cam.

Make sure you get a 3 inch cat when you do your headers so your whole exhaust will be 3 inches. Your current mods sounds great, however get rid of that flowmaster muffler, its losing you horsepower! I have a flowmaster too, because I like the quiet when I have driving on the highway, but I have my cutout open when I race, so it isn't restricting anything. I'd put a cutout on your car while your doing your exhaust work, you can see a 10-12hp gain with a cutout. It only cost me $100 to have my 3inch cat welded to 3inch pipe all the way to my cutout.

With aftermarket heads, like he has, 375hp to the wheels would be easy.

ya but with a more agressive cam there is 30 whp waiting for you and add a 383 storker to that and your looking at another 75 with a wicked cam and some good port work.
