Need Quick Help... LT1/LT4, Same Water Pump???

I thought they used the same water pump, and listed one as such on ebay, now when I look them up on partsdirect or anywhere else, the LT4 Vette has a different part number. That doesn't necessarily mean the LT1 pump won't work...

Can anyone tell me the difference, if there is any? I've seen them on ebay as LT1/LT4 pumps forever. I never did the homework myself. Of course I'll refund the guy's money if I'm in the wrong...

There is not a difference in LT1 and LT4, but if they are Corvette or F-body. The hose outlets are a little different.

So is the F-Body pump close enough to work, or can he use his Vette outlet housings, or should I just give him his money back???

Thanks for the info!

Well, the hose outlets may not point in the same direction or have the same bends, so his hoses may not fit right up. Also, I don't think that the Corvette has the outlet for the bypass/oil cooler like the F-body pump does.

Blast!!! I hate being a nice guy... My ad says it's an L99/LT1/LT4 Water Pump, part number 12527741, but to please check your application personally before bidding. After the guy bid, he emailed and asked if it would fit his 96 LT4 Vette. Thus my post.

Technically my ad is correct, it will fit an LT4 Camaro, but oh hell it's only money. I'll email him with the scoop and tell him that if he wins the auction (still going on) that I won't hold him to it. It'll be another positive feedback if nothing else...

Thanks for the lightning fast help!!!

I don't beleive the vette one will work either. A freind of mine got a F-body pump to hollow out for a mezzeire and said it wouldn't work because of the outlets.

Corvette LT1/4 pump does not have 'bypass' hose connection..
Might be good for someone swapping an LT1/4 into a car with a regular radiator tho..[not one that has a zillion 'outlet/inlets']
