need quick help...how to take the crank position plate off...

I need help basically... I am in the middle of trying to get my car running again and I need to know how to get the crank position plate off so I can retime to timing set to dot-dot... I cannot see it at all w/ it there.

any advice helps, thanks

anyone know another good guide to cam installs? sorry shoebox's is a 95 so he doesnt have the plate... anyone?

You mean the reluctor for the crank position sensor? It just sits on there and you can move it if you need to. I don't see how it is causing you a problem. They all line up the same way, whether the reluctor is there or not.

I cant really get it off.. Im afraid to tap it sideways seeing as I have already kinda taken a good chunk out of that keyhole... any easy way to get it off w/out finishing off the keyhole.

how hard is that to replace w/out taking out the crank?

I would think some "love taps" would make it come off, though it seems you should be able to judge where the dot is by looking at the position of the keyway.
