NEED pics of clearances between slp shorties and stock manifolds
NEED pics of clearances between slp shorties and stock manifolds
I need some pics of mainly fender clearances of the stock manifolds and the 1 3/4" 94-95 SLP shorties... not really JUST fender clearance pics but those would be most helpfull. I know they are supposed to be a direct swap but I wanted to know how tight they are to the engine compared to the stockers.
Re: NEED pics of clearances between slp shorties and stock manifolds
I've got no pics handy, but mine fit fine...they went in from the bottom with the new motor though, so I can't tell you about installation with the motor in the car already. I have pulled the drivers side twice (just moved it out of the way, it was still in the car though) to fix a leaking header gasket and it only took about an hour and a half each time...including pulling all my Aftercooler stuff and reinstalling it. I highly recommend the Breslin bolts...they seemed to have solved my problem with the bolts backing out on #3 and #5 cylinders.
The bigger challenge is plug access, and it's definitely challenging...but with small hands and the right combination of tools it's not too bad.
Dunno if any of that helps any...but there you go!

as for changing plugs- id say its nearly as difficult considering the primaries are so big- i currently have about 3 "special" wrenches labeled z28 tools becuase they had to be.... modified..... to make spark plug changes easier-

Awesome thanks for the pics.... is that snow! I see so little here its always exciting
BTW its not going into an F-body its going into an 86 rx7 so I was just trying to compare some pics of those headers on an f-bod to some pics of other lt1's under the hoods of 7's to get an idea how much room I have....looks like a lot more than the f-bods have. Thanks again!

Re: NEED pics of clearances between slp shorties and stock manifolds
ya def lot more room - buddy of mine has done 3 swaps into RX7's and hes working on another- there are full kits for the conversion available and make it very easy to do - much easier than working on an F-body- im going back to school tommroowo and if i meet up with him ill take some comparison pics of his rx7 hes working on-
