well i dont have the the tpis motor but i have a friend who did a head and cam swap(GTP stage 3 heads and cc306) and he is layin down 400+rwhp and 520rwhp with a 150hp shot so i would look at a head and cam swap if you know what you are doing

I've not got the TPIS 405 HP package, however, I do have TPIS long tube headers, and have used other TPIS parts in the past on other cars. If they say the package offers 405 HP it is legit. TPIS doesn't slap their name on any crap. Just my 2 cents.

I've used several TPIS products too, but i don't have the kit. They are legit and have been around a longtime and are one of the few companies that test products on an engine dyno to show exact power gains. That kit actually made 399hp on the Camaro/TransAm and 405 on the Corvette. The difference was the Corvette kit comes with larger headers.

hey man, before you buy check out Total engine airflow's 11 sec lt1 head and cam package, $1700, a great deal, and i've heard that it puts down serious power, usually more than 405, just a suggestion

you should be able to make that much with a mild cam and some bolt-ons. what all is included in the kit?

Listen to those of us who made the mistake of putting in a puny cam in our cars. Do not waste your time! You will be very unhappy.

I have the Crane 210/224 cam and it really sucks big time. Considering I have a mild port job and bigger valves and I'm only making 303 rwhp should tell you something. On the other hand, it was on the same dyno a friend of mine with an 01 A4 SS with HPP+, Shorty headers, intake, and full exhaust put out similar numbers to me shoudl tell you something...

still, go for a bigger cam.

All right this is what I am looking for. I am looking for a setup that is very dependable and it is up for occasional 1/4 mile run. Suggestions? I also need it to pass emmissions. Looking for about 450hp

If you are looking to put down some serious power I would consider going with the Gale Banks exhaust over the flowmaster. Flowmasters are to restrictive and for the kind of air that you would be moving I think you would see a big difference in the two. IMHO the gale banks sounds and looks better too. Over all I have had no experience with TPIS, but I do know that their stuff is legit. It might be kinda pricey, but you have to pay for quality and TPIS is excellent.

that gale banks system sounds awesome on an LT1, hear it on the dyno, it has a 'gmmg-ish' tone to it.......if i didnt have a GMMG id go for it. whats that kit cost anyways???? like they are saying with a CC306 (or maybe a lil bigger) and some headwork (and all the bolt ons) im sure you could lay down close to 405 to the wheels........and probably find a way to pass emissions.

if you have to pass emissions, i'd run the cc305, some good heads with bigger valves, the new Jet Hot long tubes with emissions fittings, all the bolt-ons, a dyno tune, and then i'd slap a 100-150 shot on there. with good suspension, gears, and stall, you should be running mid 11s on the crack.

Special head gaskets???

TPIS sells a thinner head gasket that's supposed to raise compression a bit and give you 10 hp and 10 ft/lbs..
