Question Need a new clutch...suggestions please!

Hey guys, I just found out that the problem my car was having was due to a blown clutch. I took it to a local Mobil gas station garage and they're asking for $900 installed. I think that's too damn expensive, but then again I really have no idea what they go for. So what do you guys think??....am I getting ripped off and should I take my Z elsewhere? Also, are there any clutches out there that you guys can suggest? Thanks in advance.

with your mods. I'd go with a stock setup or an SLP disk and PP.. If you plan to mod more in the future then go with something a lil better. I bought my SLP disk and PP and my installer did it for 250 labor and 40 for resurface of the flywheel.. 900 installed is WAY TO MUCH!!!

How much did you pay for the SLP clutch? Also is that a complete kit with Pressure Plate, throw out bearing, etc? Thanks.

BTW: I just found out that he's charging me 375 for labor, 485 for parts and 50 for resurfacing flywheel.

You can get a stock replacement for 200ish off of ebay. Labor should be 250-300. The job isnt too bad to takcle yourself, just take your time and do it right, and you will proabably want to ge the flywheel resurfaced as well.

I just bought myself a Spec Stage II

But like they said a SLP lt4 clutch, pp t/o bearing etc... It seems the best bet for your mods unless in the future you plan on adding alot more.

www.slponline.com for prices of the clutch etc.. and yes you buy the disk and the pressure plate comes with the throw-out bearing, all you'll need to get is a new pilot bearning/bushing and the flywheel resurfaced...
