need more help with EVAP system!!!
So I'm still trying to diagnose my 1441 code--evap system flow during non-purge. I have replaced:
1. charcoal canister
2. vacuum switch
3. purge solenoid
From what I have read in my Chiltons, the vacuum switch should only be open when the system is signaled to purge (normally closed), although the switch seems to be open all the time (can feel vaccum through it). This would suggest a bad vacuum switch, but I've already replaced it.
I also tried playing with the codes a little bit by plugging the vacuum lines in various locations. When I block the line between the purge solenoid and the vacuum switch I get a 441--problem with evap system. When I block the line way back by where it goes into the canister, I receive the 1441 code again (evap system flow during non-purge). Also note that I can feel plenty of vacuum back by the charcoal canister so there shouldn't be a leak anywhere.
Any other ideas or things I could check? I might have to take this one to the shop I'm afraid.

i have the same code and am also clueless. I did find a piece of charcoal in one of my lines. Sorry to hijack but do you think my charcoal canister is bad? I am mechanically clueless so I have to ask people on everything I fix.
I would guess that your charcoal canister is not bad. I don't think they go out that often, and it wasn't the problem with mine. I have heard from most people with this code that the purge solenoid/ vacuum switch was the problem.
I also have had pieces of charcoal in my vacuum lines, I don't think this is causing the code though because I still have vacuum through my lines and they are not blocked. However, I imagine this could be bad if a piece got sucked up into the throttle body or if you have a piece stuck in your vacuum switch keeping it from closing??
