need a little help

I have a 94 z with the basic bolt ons. Whenever I rev it or go from WOT and let off completely i hear two loud pops as it comes back down. Any ideas? I went back tonight and re-torqued everything i have put on the car.

Re: need a little help

No problem.

Really I would say it is doing what most LT1s do esp with aftermarket mufflers etc. Mine will even do it more frequently when cold and warming up. Get a few multi-pops coming back down in gear at about 2500 RPM maybe. I always take it as it running rich, alwyas smells like it in the morning. FYI I have no cats.

When you have time, list your mods in signature. Always interesting to see what's out there and helps with the discussions.

Re: need a little help

Makes sense i just wish it didn't do it. Well, until i change my sig here are the mods:
Moroso CAI, Granatelli MAF, 1LE Elbow, Edelbrock 52mm Throttle Boddy, Edelbrock Shortie Headers, SLP Loudmouth Catback, Richmond 3.73 gears, and Hypertech Programmer and Thermostat.
In the very near future i am going to do a LE head and cam swap with a good tune. Right now since a friend of mine just bought a Vortech SQ kit i have the biggest urge to strap a blower to the LE package!

Has your car always done it or gotten better/ worse with mods?

Re: need a little help

Since i put the loudmouth on i notice it. But it may just be because the lm is extremely loud and obnoxious (just like me!) so it sticks out. The LM was my last mod and previously it was a stock catback. It really makes me feel like a goober when someone wants me to rev it and it pops like that but nobody seems to notice.

Yeah, When I first got my car I knew very little about the LT1. When I first heard it (w/ magniflow) I was wondering if that was normal. But it seems that all the Lt1s will do this. You could always think of selling the LM. And getting a milder sounding exhaust.

SELL THE LM?!?!?!?! NO WAY!!! I love the tone of it. I think it sounds similar to a newer mustang but the lm sounds like it's got a pair. I think i can deal with it. I wonder if a tune would help?

Tune may help. You could PM and ask either madz28 or PCM4Less.
