Need help with shorter spark plug

No way #7 NGK TR55 will fit in place without plug wire - header contact. Please let me know what options do I have for shorter plugs, I really don't want to dent my headers (Hooker super-comp).

Re: Need help with shorter spark plug

If you want even more clearance get the Accel header plugs. They are a good 1/4"-3/8" shorter than the std plugs. They are pricey and platinum plugs. I had the same issue with #7 and they worked fantastic. Now I'm spraying so I had to bash in the header to get non-platinum's to fit anyway.

I am using Taylor's too, but not otvc, #7 run in heat shield bolted to block. Short Accels will be terrific. I'll try to find something today, need to get everything running asap. Thanks!

Re: Need help with shorter spark plug

Dude, the spark plug will fit. I had the exact same problem. I put the plug in by hand and got a 5/8 socket 1/2 drive slid it on the plug and used vise grips to turn and tighten the socket. It worked perfectly...
