Need Help Removing Intake ASAP

I am in the process of new opti/new lifters swap. I need to remove the intake, and can't find my LT1 manual since I have moved.

Anyway, I got everything off, except for the fuel lines, injector wires and EGR. Now, I assume for the EGR, all I have to do is remove the two bolts that hold that tube, then remove the EGR itself when the intake is out. I want to bypass it, what do I need to do at this point?

For the fuel lines and injectors, I am going to buy that fuel line removal tool now, but how to I get the wiring harness off the injectors and how do I get the fuel rails/lines off? Anything else I need to do? Thanks guys, any help would be awsome. Car is sitting appart in the driveway, please help.

as far as the EGR goes if you take the two bolts out of the pipe you don't have to take the valve itself off, you can block that off after you get the intake off the car. Now for the injectors that's no real big deal the little metal clip that on the bottom of the plug just press it inwards and pull up, the injectors are all # and if you don't know the pass side of the engine is even # and the driver is the old #'s driver side starting with the front to rear is 1-3-5-7,
the pass side is 2-4-6-8. no big deal.

To get the fuel rails off unbolt the four bolts and give it a tug...it may be on there snug but it will come...the injectors should come off with the rails...

Ok thanks guys. I got a universal fuel rail removing tool from local parts store. So, I have to unbolt the fuel rails and that will 'cause everything to come loose. Then I can leave the injectors plugged in on the wiring harness? Thanks.

You have to unplug all of injector harnesses...if you dont you might rip the wiring out. Just unplug each harness for each injector, take out the 4 fuel rail bolts and give it couple good tugs...it might be on there pretty well if the rails havent been taken off in a while.

I did not remove the fuel rails. That is extra work. Just disconnect the fuel pipes and the injector wiring. The EGR and fuel rail can stay on and pull all as a unit. Less trouble.

I did the same as shoebox... didn't actually pull fuel rails until the intake was out of the engine bay.

As far as pulling the fuel lines, make sure you've depressurized it. You can get a good amount of fuel spilt back there if you're not careful.

As far as pulling EGR goes, just undo the hose where it meets the back of the intake. When you block it off you will need a plate from TPI's (at least for the hose part... the valve is an LT4 part that I can't think of off the top of my head).

I think you might be a little confused. Anyway, just push inward (toward the center of the engine) on the middle of the clip. That will spread the clip on the sides. As you do that, pull up on the connector and it should come right off the top of the injector. Your fuel rail and injectors can stay on the manifold.

When you see how it works, your gonna say "Doh!".
