The bolt goes through into the coolant passage in the block. What kind of sealant to use? I have some Permatex polymer gasket dressing and flange sealant. It doesnt permantly set like silicone. Will this work? What did you guys use?

 

That should work just fine. I used silicone on mine when I did it last month, but what you have would probably even work better. I just didn't feel like making a 3rd trip to the parts store that day.

 

Last time I used Permatex thread sealant. The time before that, I did not use anything and had no problems.

 

i have never used any sealer and never had a leak.
