Need help Please!!

Just installed a lt1 in my 1993 TA I made sure everything was hooked back up the engine will not start! It is not geeting a spark to the spark plugs, I changed the coil still no spark! Is there any way this could be something with the anti theft or does that just shut the injectors off?The motor sat for 4 years could the opti spark be bad? Thanks for any help!

Along with those thing you checked I would also check the opti to make make sure your geting spark there as well. more then likely its going to be the opti especially if its non vented. Good luck

Re: Need help Please!!

Are we to assume that the engine cranks but won't fire???? If it doesn't crank, then we have an entirely different issue. Do we assume that you don't have spark at the coil and that is why you changed it??????? Or is it that you only checked spark at a plug wire? Is voltage getting to the coil??? What about trigger pulses to the coil??? Do you know for sure you have fuel to the rails under pressure? Have you tried squirting fuel into the intake and cranking the engine over????

As far as looking for certain types of problems, when you have chained components like PCM, ICM, coil and OPTI. You have to start at the end and work your way backwards toward the source. You would obviously have to know what wires to look at and what to look for. Any "powered" components like ICM and coil should be checked for proper supply voltages first. Once a supply is NOT found, the first place to start searching is the fuses.

Re: Need help Please!!

There is a series of ground wires that ground to the stud used to hold the icm to the head. Are they all there. I can't remember all the wires but I did use it to ground my msd to it.I wonder if the coil is not grounded to it also. Hope you find the problem.
