Need Help!!! Oil Gage Is Stuck

Hey Fbods. OK i need some help. A while ago I pulled off my INtake manifold cuase it was leaking OIL in the back of it. Prior to that My oil pressure gage was working fine. I pulled the intake off RTV'd the intake. Sealed it. Put all the bolts back on. Re Torqued the intake. Turned the KEY.and now my OIL gage Just stays all the way UP and it will not move at all. Its all the way past the 80 mark. ANd it just stays there LIKE its stuck. I replaced the OIL SENDING UNIT. And it still reads in the stuck position. I blew some air in the selioniod and the plug to make sure nothing was in there. And nothing. IT still reads in the on postion. I unscrewed the Sending unit. Started the motor. and OIL came POORING out. So thass an Indication that I have OIL pressure still. So PLEASE HELP. Its making oil pressure. I cant find the STUCK OIL GAGE PROBLEM

Re: Need Help!!! Oil Gage Is Stuck

I would make sure that ALL of the electrical terminals within both the connector and the oil sending unit are CLEAN and STRAIGHT.

Sounds like you may have bent a terminal.

If all of that is OK; just give the top of the dash a good SMACK with your hand and see what happens.

EDIT: also make sure that the replacement oil sending unit is the CORRECT one for your engine.

Unplug the sensor and ground the wire. If your gauge still is pegged, the wire may have been broken when you did your intake work.
