Need help finding valve springs to go with my new cam.
Need help finding valve springs to go with my new cam.
Ok I have a ZZ-9 cam that im getting ready to put in and i am also putting in 1.6 magnum roller rockers and i was wondering which would be the best valve springs, that would not require machine work to the heads, to go with the cam.
It has .515" int. and .554" exh.
I was looking to into the crane springs part #270-99893-16 which are supposed to be for the LT-1 but, when i called the Jegs tech line the guy said that it might not have enough seat pressure. So, i was wondering what you guys think. Will the crane springs work or does someone have a better suggestion?
Thanks

I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the same springs but Combo offers a Crane direct drop in springs that is good up to .600" I believe. They are the sprins Combo said would work with my 236/242 cam which has around .576" on exhaust with 1.6rr's
Yeah i think they are the same except they are $35 cheaper in jegs. Is anyone using these, and what about seat pressure(sorry i know nothing about valve springs) and will they work ok with my cam?
You should call TPiS..they are the providers of that cam. I called them on it once. They recommend 130 lbs. (**I think**) of seat pressure...they also recommend using the 1.6 rocker on the intake and keeping the stock 1.5 on the exhaust for max output with the cam. They sell a special spring they recomment with it....
