Exclamation Need help fast!

Ok so I blew up my driveshaft a week ago and it took the yoke with it. I got a new yoke and when I removed the nut (1 1/4) from the pinion I never marked it or anything. Pulled the old yoke, put the new one in with the old seal and tightened it as far as it would go. Now that I've read this site and a couple of manuals I realize I've tightened the pinion nut wayyyyy tooooo tight

How exactly do I got about getting in on far enough but not too far? I did a search but came up with nothing. Help!

*EDIT*
I've only put about 15-20miles on the rear since I did this and it isn't making any noises and also, does anyone remember how many threads were sticking out on their 10bolts by chance or how far you measured before you took off the pinion nut? I would imagine its the same for all fbody 10bolt rears. Anyone know?

Your concerned with the drag on the bearing when the pinion nut is tight. Here this should help.

Ok I read that and I'am still confused. I've read posts on here where dealerships tightened the pinion nut too much and it ruined the rear because of too much pressure on the bearings. But yet in that guide they use an impact to tighten down the nut Am I supposed to tighten the nut until the yoke is tight with the bearing and then tighten the hell out of the nut with the impact or what? Can anyone clairfy for me? I would like to drive my car this weekend without fear of ruining the rearend.
