ok i was out in a race today and soon as i hit 3rd gear, i got a "SES" light, wtf is that for???

ive been having slight oil problems , could this be it?

and why 3rd gear and not any others?

anyone have any suggestions , please help

You'll have to get a scanner on it. You can have it scanned at any Autozone. They do it for free. It's hard to say what the SES light is for. It could be for numerous things. After you find out what the code is, let us know.

Oh BTW tonight when the SES light came on i was racing a LS1 SS ... after 100mph it put a couple bus lenghts on me
