Need help choosing cam!!!
Need help choosing cam!!!
I have a all stock lt1 motor.. Has 63k orig. Miles on it.. As of right now car is all stock other than straight piped exhaust with single chamber flowmaster. All bolt on-s planned for near future such as intake, throttle body, plugs wires etc.. So now here is the big question...
What is a good cam to get.. Smog is not a big issue if there is a good cam smog legal would be nice.. But not a must.. Looking for biggest cam possible that is not going to effect everyday driving and not hurt the stock motor... So please help me out!!
I know nothing about cams and there specs so i need help bad... Links would be great

I didn't write those posts, but they are good resources.
You need to put aside a couple hours and really research camshafts and what all those numbers mean. I can't explain it in one post.
That cam is FAR more aggressive than the hotcam and probably more than you are wanting.
Honestly, I don't even think you need a cam for what you want. Get all the bolt ons, some rear end gears and good suspension and you will be happy. If you still need more, upgrade the valvetrain. You can mess up your whole motor with a cam swap. Do a search here for "help cam swap" and you will see.

thanks again.. its hard to find someone who knows what they are talking about..
That is a very popular cam here. Search for "cc503" and you will find lots of info. You should find that you will need to upgrade the entire valvetrain for the cam swap as well. That's why the hotcam kit was recommended because it includes everything you need from springs to the cam itself.
