Need help Bad!!!

I put a 94 lt1 in a 96 and I need to do the opti coversion because the timing cover doesnt have a crank position sensor. Does the newer motor have a different crank sprocket to work the sensor? If so what the hell do I do to fix this problem?

Supposedly the only thing the cps does on the obdII LT1 cars is detect misfires, so I'd imagine it would run without it, just throw a lot of codes. You could always convert the car to obdI. As far as the crank sprocket and such I'm really not sure, but wish I could be of more help.

You could have the crank position sensor programmed out. If you want to keep it, you'll need a new timing chain cover, reluctor (provides the timing for the CPS), shorter crank pulley hub and a CPS.

Thanks for the reply guys, I still have my old motor so I have everything to do it right. I am just going to put it all back together and have that code deleted. Thanks for the help guys.
