need help ASAP, regarding 93 programming for cam swap - pcmforless?
Ok here's the deal.
I'm gonna be needing programming for my XE 227/233 cam in my 93 Z28 w/ stock heads. www.madz28.com is not taking orders for the 93's at this time, and have no idea when he'll start again.
I talked to Alvin at pcmforless and he said he'd do it.
Should I go with pcmforless?
I need to know, because alvin is going out of town for a couple weeks, and I need to order tomorrow if I want my tune in time for the swap!
help! Are there any other options?

I trust Alvin, he did my chip, I did a couple of dyno pulls(with/without) sent him the results and the chip (a liitle lean on top) he adjusted the tune and resent. The chips works well, Alvin is fast and will work with you to get it right. I believe he has enough knowledge to get it close for you and then I would recommend getting a dyno pull with wide band data so that he can fine tune it for you (maybe a with/without chip comparison) it will take extra time and money but there is so much to be gained by dyno tuning that it's almost always worth it.
I just put that cam in my 94z28 and need to get mine reprogrammed by madwolf. Is the cam in your car yet? Mine is falling all over itself downlow, feels like it is gonna fall apart. It doesn't right itself until like 2700 rpm. The stock gears and converter are not helping it either. They are out next week.

its not in the car yet. are you running stock tuning or are you having problems with pcmfoless and going with madwolf?
Have you called PCMforless yet?
You should give them all the details about what you need done.
eg: Stage II chip programmed for cam, injectors, rev limiter, EGr, etc.
Then ask for a price.

Yeah I talked to Alvin at pcmforless, he said $150 for the chip programmed for the cam, rocker arms, etc.
Yep 150$
I had a 93 T/A with ported heads, six inch rods and 11.5 to 1 comp with a cc305 cam and Alvin did a really good job, the redos were very easy, usually took a week turnaround after he got the chip back. I wish I had lived closer to him though I would have had him Dyno tune it.
I live here in Oklahoma and thers a reason why alot of us local guys dont drive the 30 minutes over to Ed wright to do the tune.
He is very picky and will not do special stuff unless he adds a whopping fee. (hundreds)
A freind of mine put a supercharger on his car then took it to Ed to have it Dyno tuned, he lost 53 hp by deleting the FMU with eds tuning, they couldnt figure it out. They finally tuned it with the FMU in place and it made even more HP. He then later took the car elsewhere and tuned out the FMU himself with LS1 edit and he gained about 40 hp over the best FMU tune he had.

I am running the stock tuning. I am not driving the car though yet. It is still being stored for the rest of the winter, I am just getting everything put on before spring gets here in michigan. I emailed madwolf and never got a response back, might have to go with pcm4less

I think I will be going with pcmsforless also for the engine build up I am doing for flyboy's 93Z. I was worried that SD would be harder to get a good tune for but from what I have read Alvin is good.

I was considering tuning awhile back and pcmforless was definitely going to be my choice. The guy I talked to there was very friendly and upfront about things. I've heard they do good work there and will work to get it right too.
I'm suprised I didn't see this yet.
Go with Alvin. He knows what he's talking about, and definitely knows how to tune a car. He'll get you a good tune, and is a great person to work with too. He worked for six months with me trying to get my car running right before we found out it was a compression problem.
Two thumbs up.
