i have a 96 camaro 6 speed all stock but ported intake and ported heads.
I have a stumble when i am at low rpms and much more apparent when the car is warmed up. I dont have any stumble when i give the car abundtant throttle, just when i baby the car and just putt around. I recently replaced the head gaskets and the problem developed soon after. It seems to be getting worse though. It doenst seem like a misfire, but more of a stumble and after a long drive sometimes i can smell gas. So I am leaning towards a bad maf or bad 02 sensors. Any thoughts?
thanks

LMAO! Could be a few different things. For sure wires, let me tell ya. And it could be other wires loose or not making good connections either. Def check the obvious stuff you touched. Like Green said, elbow, MAF, wires attached to them...etc.
If you got a code it will point ya in the right direction for sure.

i do get 2 codes, for egr and air pump, i took out the air pump and the egr, not sure, i think most of it is still hooked up.
Also my idle never goes below 1k.
I replaced the spark plugs with some ngks i believe, but i didnt do the wires, as they had less resistance than the new ones from autozone. I have double checked that each wire is on good and not causing a problem. If i had a wire problem wouldnt a get a misfire in whatever cylinder?

check your throttle cable on by you TB...there is a little black piece that is supposed to be attached further up the line. mine slid down and i had the same problems as you. that little black piece falls down under your spring ( still on the cable) and gets caught under there under hard acceleration. it causes a miss at low rpm but not when you get on it or at wot.
i have checked for vacume leaks, i cant find any.
I should also add that, i purchased the car with blown headgaskets, and never drove the car before replacing head gaskets.
This weekend, after a longer drive, i got a code 0300 for random misfire. So, i am thinking that when the head gasteks blew out, the water pump also locked up and the car was completely out of coolant that the extra heat might have damaged the ICM or the coil. I think autozone can check the ICM?
Also this weekend, i recleaned the MAF and checked 5 easy to get to spark plugs, and they looked really good, and still had the correct gap.
thanks
