need help
Ok... my buddy has a 93 Z and it broke down recently... we dont know what exactly is wrong with it... he was pulling out of a neighborhood and his mom was in the car so he wasnt on it hard.... went to get on the gas and heard a loud clanging and he instantly lost all fuel pressure... could be the fuel pump but that doesnt explain the clanging under the hood... the car will turn over but not start so it isnt siezed up.... any ideas?
Does the motor sound right when it turns over? The fuel pump is electric and located in the tank at the rear of the vehicle. The clanging you speak of - could you describe it better? Was there any backfire? I suppose it could be the timing chain or broken cam. Did any coolant come out of the motor?
