NEED HELP! 396 w/ loud screech!

Anyone with ideas are greatly appreciated. Here is the history...Neighbor has a 396 LT1 that was just recently rebuilt. We re-installed this engine into his A4 car and cranked it over.

Now comes the interesting part...It will idle okay, but as soon as you "blip" the throttle it will SCREEEEEECH louder than anything you have ever heard. You let off the throttle and it gets softer and quits most of the time. Sometimes it won't stop till you turn off the car.

It sounds a whole lot like that irritating noise that the starter makes when you hit the ignition again when the car is running...well it is making that noise, but I can guarantee that it is not the starter!! We made sure of this after it first happened by removing the dust shield and watching the starter engage to start, but no movement when the noise started.

We also removed the serpentine belt...No help...still made the same noise, so there goes the Alt., P/S, and A/C as being a prob.

The car has a Meziere that is working perfectly. The Opti is starting the car, but I don't know that the parts in it could make that loud a noise. I mean hold your ears loud...audible over an almost open exhaust.

There is an AFR rev-kit installed with a CC306 bumpstick. New oilpump and oilpump drive.

We are stumped...Please assist

I don' t know, man... It can be anything from: something internal not assembled correctly to something externally rubbing.

Make sure the oil pressure moves when you blip the throttle.

You're going to have to try and isolate the sound.

Good Luck.

Thanks for mentioning the OP...I personally watched the gauge during the "incident" and it idles at 45-52psi, up to 60+ as we go up in throttle quickly and remains at that level even during that time. The factory "idiot light" is also connected.

The noise is so loud in the garage that we had 4 people around the car at one time...1-front, 1-each side, 1-under and all said "uh...its all over" meaning they can't comfortable/easily isolate when it is occuring.

We will pull the intake cause that is the quickest check, but just wanted to know if ANYONE has even remotely heard of this.
