need a game plan
well the car is parked for the winter. i would like a list of upgrades to buy so that i can work on it during the winter.
when i bought the car i was told it had a rebuilt block bored .30 with 5000 miles on it. i have no proof of any of this. what i would like is 350 whp(withOUT n2o) for next summer. after that i plan on buying a new motor (355 or 383) or rebuilding and stroking this one. what things could i get now that would get me to my goal and be transferable to the new motor? thanks

CC503 cam or similar. 3/8 studs 1.6 nsa RR's. guid plates, hardened pushrods, comp 918 springs, poly locks. Dyno tune. You should already have new lifters and a timing chain with the rebuild.
Do you have any numbers for your current setup?

Well first i would do a cc503 like mentioned above. It has a proven track record of putting down 340-350rwhp and is still driveable. Some dd the cam, i wouldnt because of mpg's but hey, thats just me.
Next, ditch those junk headers for some long tubes. They will be essential for hitting the 350rwhp. It looks like you already have most of the other supporting mods so i dont think you ll need to much aside the LT's.
All the valvetrain should be transferable and most of the other top end parts too. All the bolt ons will be able to be swaped onto the next motor, suspension, chasis, etc. So theres not much that wont be.
Good luck here bud.

i dont think i have an aftermarket one. im not sure what to do, i know for sure that i am going to either buy a new one or rebuild this one next year. my problem is i wont have enough money or time to do it this winter and i want it running for next summer when my school goes to the track. i am going to run n2o on it, i was hoping for close to 500 hp with the spray thats why i wanted to have 350-400 on motor.
