Anybody got some flow numbers? Just saw these in the Summit catalog.

Thanks

Cool

I haven't seen flow numbers but Edelbrock says the heads and cam are worth 53HP. Not that great. I don't know which but either the cam or the heads suck!

Actually their site says 73HP increase over stock, which isn't bad considering the cam they chose for the combo is pretty mild. Probably wouldn't be bad for a daily driver.

After looking at the flow numbers, I'd tend to agree, but I won't. The flow numbers actually are impressive. Why? Those were done with only a 170cc intake runner, and only a 60cc exhaust. When you consider the port volumes, those flow numbers actually look pretty good. As a matter of fact, the flow numbers stack up well against the GM LT4 head, despite the GM head having 195cc intake port.

I think these heads would be outstanding on a 350 cubic inch daily driver. But I would definately stay away from them on strokers or motors that are shooting for ~500 fwhp or more NA.

Exactly. Out of the box, you have a set of heads that flow the same as LT-4's, but with runner volumes that are the same as LT-1's. More air through a smaller port equals velocity. Good velocity equals more power.

According to Edelbrock's numbers, those heads flow similar to what LT4 heads flow, with smaller ports and valves. These heads have been out for a while now but I have yet to see any independant confirmation of those flow numbers and honestly I think they are suspect and so is a 73 hp increase with that single pattern cam.

Just wondering if anyone has tried to port these heads yet? Just to see what the best numbers you can get out of them are.

I agree with port velocity being the critical street factor. Unless you're hitting some mid RPMs in gridlock, you could experience a surge... again it is the package (cam, DCR, SCR, intake, and exhaust)

Regarding flow, they do peak at .500... yeah, there may be some work that could wake them up.
