Need fast response to flexplate question

I have an auto and I am dropping an internally balance motor into it. I have been told that I need a nuetrally balanced flexplate to properly mate the engine and transmission. I have heard that most people just make their old flexplate nuetral by knocking off the weight, so does this mean you completely removed that odd shaped weight form the inner lip of the flexplate or what? The mechanics around here have no idea what I am talking about, and I don't want to remove it and then need it, or vice versa. Thanks for the help.

first off you now the LT1 is INTERNALLY balanced right?

secondly, internally is Much better than externally (dont know why, just read it alot)

third-
that "weight" is its balance- without that, its not nuetrally balanced any more. if it externally balanced, i think that means the flywheel/flexplate has to play a role in balancing-
meaning the machine shop has to blalnce the flywheel/flexplate with your setup.

just get it internaly balanced and add a nuetral flexplate

Hmm, now I'm really confused The motor is a 396 LT1 that has already been internally balanced ( and it's not the original block that came with the car.). Can I just plug and play, or do I need to alter the flexplate in anyway to make it compatible (i.e.- no crazy vibrations or anything) with the new motor?
I was under the impression that I had to do something to the stock flexplate to match it to an internally balanced, modified motor. I truly appreciate the help.

sorry
i'm a complete and utter dumbass
I misread your post. I thought it said you have an extrenally balanced motor.

A nuetrally balanced flexplate is for an internally balanced setup. WITH the weight, it is balances.

To make it easy to picture-
you have a setup that is balanced on its own (internally), then add a nuetrallly balanced flexplate to it, its still balanced.

I *think* you use an unbalanced flexplate to balance a setup that is not already balanced.

with that said-
I HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU GET AN APPOROVED Flexplate and not the stocker. They are $80 from jegs and a GREAT idea.

I wish it were that simple. I've searched, and neither I, nor fellow board members, have seen a neutrally balanced flexplate. I just need to know what I must do to it before I put this thing back together. Somebody must have done this before. Thanks for the help.

aren't 95% of them for internally balanced motors?
I might be mixing things up, search advanced tech under my name for something about balancing
