What size is the I-pipe where it meets the muffler on my 94 Z28? Also, what size are the tailpipes at the muffler?
I want to add a new muffler, just need that info to get the right size.

 

I Pretty sure it is 2.75" I pipe and then 2.25" out muffler to tips. That is what my Formula had.

 

Hmmm, it seems most aftermarket mufflers only offer 2.5" inlets, or 3" Should a good exhaust shop be able to reduce the I-pipe to make it work with a 2.5" inlet muffler? I also dont remember seeing many mufflers with 2.25" outlets available, usually 2.5 or 3" was available just like with the inlets.*shrug*

 

yeah, most shops can convert any size inlet. what muffler did you have in mind?

 

I was looking at a Dynomax Ultra Flow

 

The actual intermedite pipe is 2 3/4, but the part that enters the muffler is 2 1/2, so only like 2inches, theres plenty of replacment mufflers in the right sizes, if thats all your wanting to do.
