Need compression/cam help for a 355 rebuild

Hi Guys,

I have a 95 bird with all the boltons. For exhaust it has hooker 1 3/4" with OFY and hooker CB. Its an M6 car with 4.10s. Electric wp, all free mods, etc.

I rebuilt a stock shortblock with some scat 5.7" rods and Mahle 2 valve relif pistons. I plan on using stock heads with maybe MINOR port matching work and slight bowl work. Done a few heads in the past, so will do these, again very minor.

The block has been decked, and I will measure the deck height before beginning any work on the heads.

I am wondering what thickness compressed factory head gaskets are? Also all else equal, how much gain will the mahle 2 valve relif pistons give me over stockers in compression?

I want the car to be able to drive daily, but still have some cam/compression. I was leaning towards the cc503 cam. How much compression can I look to run with my combo? Car is setup for nitrous use, small shot. I have no problems with premium fuel. Can I try to run 11.5:1? If so, what are my chances of getting there with stock heads and those pistons?

So to sum it up, will be basically a stock head motor with a bit more compression and a camshaft. I was leaning towards going bigger then the 503 cam, but not sure if its a good idea.
