Need advice regarding header install

Pacesetter LTs and ORY on the way soon (unless I can be convinced buying jet-hots and Y pipe is a better choice, though it costs about $200 more)

Question is, what should I do if my I pipe is stock 2 3/4" and Y-pipe is 3"? I am going to take it to the shop and get from the muffler to cat 3" unless you guys think a reducer would yield the SAME results. I know if wont be the same, but I'd just like to know what other people in my situation have done. Thanks

What are your power goals with the car? That will determine the best way to go. If your just looking for a little extra power and a good sound, stick with the stock I-pipe and go to a reducer. If your looking to get more serious with the power, you may want to go 3" all the way back.

Re: Need advice regarding header install

thanks for the replies

I would buy a used catback, but I paid a good amount to have mine done - it's just muffler back. Everything is 3" besides the inlet of muffler to cat (with the exception of the cutout at the axle) I wanted to do headers during this winter break, and cannot afford another catback system - so I'm thinking of getting the I pipe 3" to match the rest of the exhaust, then install headers and Y -- eventually down the road a new catback (thinking gmmg) -- would that be a good plan?

You can't go wrong with that plan, it will be good for now and good down the road if you decide to go a little more radical.
