that is awesome for your friend. it is ironic u posted this bc i was talking to one of my buddies about a stock motored LT1 car w/juice.

anyways, it is totally believable. you's that cant get yours into the 13's stock......i suggest driving lessons!!!! j/k, but a stock LT1 is definately capable of 11's on a 125 shot.

How can you drive an auto better then everyone else to get into the 13's stock. I don't know what my car runs but I would love to run low 13's with my mods in sig and the headers I am going to put in. How do you do it?

I must admit that some of the fastest tracks on the east coast are within 100 miles of eachother.

Atco, Englishtown, Cecil County Dragway, and Maple Grove give up amazingly quick times.

 

Thats cool man . I have lots of respect for somebody that can make a stock auto run that much faster then average stock. Ask him if he has any tips for me to run that fast.

 

i can believe it. i turned, a 13.40 @107 1.7 60ft w/ no 2nd gear, no fuel side jet (runnin pig rich), it was hott as heck and with the sub box illin in the trunk

 

I've run at the last three of them and I'm usually about 1/10 quicker at Cecil, it seems to be the fastest track around here.

 

It's certainly possible...Billy Ray in SoCal ran an 11.8 @ 118 or so with a $400 150hp shot Nitrous Express kit with a 94Z, 3.23 geared A4, cold air, and a flowmaster muffler. No bottle warmer, no frills...

 

I don't. Mine ran 13.74 at 100mph in bone stock trim, and I believe if I had kept it bone stock, I could've gotten that time down into the 13.6s under absolutely perfect conditions. And we know the 93s are a tick quicker than the 94-97s too. Johnny Hunkins (formerly of GMHTP) got his 93 Formula to run a 13.5 bone stock too.

 

There are a lot of tricks you can do in order to extract better times out of your LT1 for free. And I don't mean mods, but simply the way you approach your trip to the track. First of all, don't show up at the track with a car that is out of tune. Make sure you've got good plugs, wires, fuel filter, 02 sensors etc, as all of these things need to be in good shape to make good power. Also, don't show up with crappy tires. You don't need drag radials on a bone stock car, but rock hard H rated tires are a no-no. And one of the most important things, don't run the car hot! If I run my car with the intake hot, and the coolant temp hot, it runs low 14s. Let it sit for a while with the hood open, and get that intake good and cold, and I see 13.6s and 13.7s.

 

I'm hoping with the mods in the sig I wil see 8.40s next time out. It went 8.60s stock, and that was on GSCs (best of 8.64@79.9 with a 1.97 60').

 

My stock 96 LT1 ran a 13.2 the first time I ever ran it. Thats w/out any gas or bolt ons.
