NE1...SLP Suspension Kit worth it???

I've got a SLP suspension kit waiting to be installed. However, my buddy wants to buy it. I'm not really concerned about the money, but I want to know if it is really worth putting it on. I know it will be better than stock...but will it help with a better launch and traction. If you have the SLP suspension kit or know someone who does, please share you're feelings on it. Gonna start putting it on tomorrow afternoon if you think it is worth it.

yes, its the optional supsension kit available on the SS and hawks. for the money its a great deal. i got the reinforced setup for $600 on GP. the components arent the best, but are solid and matched for each other, which is a major plus in my book and according to the auto-X and road racers (i debated buying ths kit for a while). id install it. post some pics too, id like to see how the car looks with that 1 inch drop! mine should be going in in a month or so, just $$$ dependant........
good luck, and id say do it up!

not to me, the bilsteins are worth it though. but i like the eiback pro kit, not slp's drop springs. and the 1le swaybars suck almost as hard as the stock ones. id get the shocks, bmr or addco sway bars, and eibach's springs. that and some lca's with brackets and you have a serious launch and 60' time.

SLP's are eibachs.......1 inch drop. not sure how they compare with the pro kit springs, but with my driveshaft loop hanging so far down i could afford much more than a 1 inch drop. on a stock Z the 1LE provides an improvement in size, on an SS or another car with 32 mm sway bars already i could see how it may prove to be useless.

the bmr's are solid, and the 1le's arent. they are the same size though. but the addco is i think 1 and 5/8 hollow, and 1 and 1/4 solid though, and if thats not enough, you dont need to be on the streets

as for the springs, im clueless as to the brand of slp's, but still, they dont have the stiffness imo that the camaro's desire in an upgrade. the dssl is a concern for me too, when i get one. i have the DMS springs, and they yield a 1.5" drop rear and a 1.25" front.

Well, looks like the main thing is with the sway bar and the springs...so I called slp. They said that the spings were eibach but they are made especially for slp and that there will be a notice in the increased manuveribility of the sway bar that comes with the kit over my 95 one. He said that it is also the optional kit that comes with the firehawk that comes pretty solid from the factory. He said this kit will be stiff and solid without losing too much drivability, since it is an everyday driver. He said I will not only see a difference in the ride quality, but in 60' times as well. I hope it works out for the best and will post pics when I can. And the average drop is about 3/4" and it really isn't all about the springs being lowering springs...they are calibrated for slp performance as well.

I bought the SLP Stage II because I only wanted approximately a 1 inch drop and I needed new shocks anyways. If I weren't worried about longtube clearance I would not have gone with this package, as it's decent but you could do so much better for the money.
