The investigators fist impression seems solid. There's nothing in the back of the car to catch fire when it's not running. I'll bet someone stuffed something in the fuel filler neck and lit it.

I hope they catch the bastards. Were you insured???

during the investigating the gas cap was missing from the car. investigators found the gas cap under the car and they took it for finger prints and a "cent test". they said that fire started in the gas tank. i guess someone came and throw a cigarette or something like that.

the car is fully insured (thank good). i contacted the insurance and they will send someone to check out the car and the damage to the building this week.

the engine and the tranny is out of the car. i'm doing a 383 rebuild for the engine but not any more. the engine is all a part in the machine shop and i was wondering if the insurance will make me put the engine all together again or they just want all the parts?!?!

Its a real shame anymore!! People cant have anything nice without someone else distroying it either like that or not paying attention on the road and hitting you. Id pray they found whoever did it before I did because id be right next to him in jail probably! Sorry man that truely sucks!

dude Im sorry something like this happened . I cant think of anything that would just kill me more than to have my car destroyed like that . Probably someone just jealous of your ride. Id better not ever see someone messing with my car like that or theyll get 5 22LR's in each kneecap and the butt end in the face. I hope everything works out for you man. I lost my first car (87 camaro) In an accident with someone illegally passing on the curb hitting me as I made my turn (I had right of way) I was pissed and the cops tried to blame me for it but I got reimbursed by insurance. But an act of sensless vandalism like that , I hope you find him and burn his house down. Let us know what happens ....
