My Tranny!!! Need urgent help !!! Belhousing

I went today to the shop to see why I was leaking tranny fluid, like a dime size amount. Well it turns out that it is leaking out the front seal. Anyways, My bellhousing has a crack like 4 inches long on each of the two sides. I NEED ADVICE. I am probably leaning towards replacing the tranny from what people are telling me. What do you all think? How much am I looking at to get it repaired or to get a new tranny and labor?

Ok, I am reluctant to advise you to use the cracked case, it can be repaired but I would not do it.
A new tranny is probably the best way to go here.

I would have the trans shop weld the case back up. I've had it done many times and never had a problem.

I have seen it done too, but I would be reluctant to do it.
But it probably would be alot cheaper, I had my tranny rebuilt carryout for 750. Welding yours up and having it rebuilt while its out would be the cheapest way to go.

You can either replace the case or repair your case or replace the entire transmission. A reputable transmission shop should be able to steer you in the right direction.
