Unhappy my tranny mount broke :(

on the way back from huntsville, i heard the tranny making noise and shaking really odd. when i looked under, i saw the tranny resting on the metal guard underneath it. is this safe to drive before i get it fixed? or do i need to take the old van?

ya its safe to drive with a busted tranny mount. i actually ran mine at the track with it broken and ran my best time yet. i wouldnt recommend driving hard with it broke, but if you have to, it wont hurt much. just change it when you get the chance.

FWIW, i would go with the Energy Suspension Poly Mount, i got mine from LS1speed.com for like 26 bucks and it has held up great to the punishment that i give it.

He forgot to mention it...it's okay to drive but try not to get on the gas or come off it too fast. Thats what causes it to jump around.

I'm getting a knocking sound when I really step on it. I can't tell where it's coming from but it could be the mount I think. It only happens when I either stab the throttle or get up in the rpms. It knocks really quickly, sounds like 3 quick smacks within a second or so.

I was thinking it could be the the driveshaft hitting the I-pipe since there isn't all that much clearance. Does the driveshaft move when you stab the throttle?

If you go under the car and just look at it, sometimes you can't even tell. Broke mine twice. You gotta take a jack under it and lift a lil and it'll seperate.
