What does it do when you press the clutch in and try and go into second gear? Thats the syncronizer trying to mesh...

97SS: sounds like when my clutch went out....take the dust shield off and see if fibers fall out....also check your hydraulics...that's what happended to my f150....slave cylinder started leaking and same stuff.

it does fine in second, shifts great just that reverse thing i was telling you about. ive been to the track with it and never missed shifted.

well i just wemt and picked it back up, and he said it will run and run ok but forth gear will make some noise. but when i took it to him you could hold the input shaft and and hold the out put shaft and turn one and you could tell it had some slack in it but now theres no slack at all when you do it.

ouch. sure looks like a syncro bit the dust. Not sure what the rest of that is (just collatteral damage I'd guess... like the gear teeth getting chipped while trying to spin in that garbage).

If you plan on parting it out let me know. I'm in the market for a T56 extension housing.

Looks like someone swept the machine shop floor and dumped it in your tranny. Time to learn something about the innards.

quite the oppisite: he open the tranny dump the crap ut of it then swept the shop floor.
