Question Is my stall going bad?

I keep hitting my rev limiter. I thought maybe the trans was slipping, but it grabs good. I hit the rev limiter in 1st every time and sometimes in 2nd. How can I check to see if my stall is engaging? I was told to give it gas and hit the brake lightly while I was doing it and the rpm`s should go up if it was engageing. They went up about 100 rpm. Is that normal? Is there another way to check for a bad stall?

Are you running astock cam and programming? To me it sounds like your shift points arn't setup properly. If your mph points are higher than your rev limiter the car will never shift. All shift points aresetup by mph

STalled

Stalls rarely "go bad" by themselves. They, generally, only faulter when metal particles are introduced by the failing tranny. The WOT rev limiter strike from 1st to 2nd is usually the first sign of a failing tranny or low tranny fluid level. Some people have also been know to have trouble on the OBD-I cars when using over a 2800RPM stall. There's is something in the programming that causes issues for some, but not all, owners.

WOOHOO! 500 posts! Man, do I have a big mouth and a lot of useless opinions.

Level

If your fluid level is good, then check the fluid for color. If it is brown, get your filter and fluid changed. Get the fluid sucked out if affordable. I'm going to have to guess your tranny is worn out, but I have no idea how many miles you have on your car. There are a lot of posts about the WOT hit, so do a search and prepare to hear bad news. I hope it's something simple. Good luck.
