well ever since the long tubesm the slp loudmouth sounds liks s***, well after a little while i thought it sounded cool since its so loud, but when im just cruising, it sounds like crap it just sounds raw and choppy not like smooth, does anyone have any links for a replacement muffler that probably sounds smoother or nicer? the loudness doesnt bother me though.

the only thing i hace to record that is my digital camera, but i think it makes big files, is that ok? ill try to record it this week. it actually sounds perfect when you rev it, its just when u drive around 2k rpm it sounds like a ****box but when you floor it then it sounds like a monster!

FINALLY a clip, you don't know how long i have been searching for this, also do you have a cat on yours or not, cause i was planning on also doing pacesetter LTs, pacesetter Y-pipe and my loudmouth

 

I've heard a car with loudmouth and headers with ory and it was loud but sounded horrible. I would actually be embarressed to drive a car with an ory and the loudmouth.

 

i have pacesetter lt's with ory, and a high flow carsound cat, i think it would be worst without the cat. oh and i have heard something like people using the muffler form the gmmg? what is that muffler called and where can i buy it? does anyone know if i would lose any hp from this too cause isnt the lm the least restrictive muffler?

 

You could maybe put a bullet muffler in the i-pipe to tone it down some.

Or you could try a Sweet Thunder chambered muffler too.

 

isnt the sweet thunder a flowmaster or the one that they use for gmmg? which ones the one that they use for gmmg if not? cause if its flowmaster i dont like flowmaster cause they have bad hp gains

I had this same problem. Ended up selling the LM and getting an different catback.. one with an actual muffler.

 

which exhaust did you get? and is sweet thunder related to teh gmmg muffler in any way like hp gain and sound? and which one would i pick if i were to buy it?

Yes, the sweet thunder's are similar to the ones use on a GMMG catback. You can also get the same type from Summit and stainless works. Although I cannot say it will sound exactly the same since its only going to have a single muffler compared to GMMG's two, and its taking different paths. I would say you'd get a similar tone to GMMG only a bit louder.

I have heard many loudmouths, some with LT's and no cat, some stock, some with a gutted cat. I am not at all impressed with them and I agree that I would be embarrassed to drive a car around with it on. Unless its mostly a track car. They make a nice F-body sound more like an ole beat up Ford Truck with bad timing and no exhuast.

do you think it would at least sound alot better with my setup if i got those sweet thunder mufflers? also later im going to make it a 383 with large cam and afr 227 heads.

 

I think it will sound better, but its going to get pretty loud going to a cam with a stroker. You might want to switch the whole catback or at the very least talk to some people who swapped mufflers in there who have cam's. All I know is mines pretty loud at WOT stock and the idle is pretty beefy too. I am hoping it will sound respectible when I go to a cam, or I'll have to get a different catback too.

if yours was too loud, thenw hat would you get over a gmmg? and what is the gmmg hp rated(like the max hp it can support)? would the loudmouth with sweet thunder be rated at a lower hp limit? and what do you think of a borla vs. b&b vs. gmmg exhausts?
