is my motor done or not

well after a night at the track. i had a big nitrous back fire after missing 2nd gear because if tire spin. motor died and its struggling to turn its self over and i got it started buy giving it gas and oil and smoke shoots out out the valve cover breater like a bug fogger. i was told to hit the valve springs with a hammer to tell if there broken by what noise they make. 4 of the springs on the drivers side seem to be broken but i donno for sure. and i was told i could of broke a piston ring. what do you guys think. cant decide weather to replace the springs and see what happens or just call it a season and tear down the motor and rebuild

Sounds like you either broke a ring/ringland or put a hole in a piston(s) and you're pressuring the crankcase which is causing the oil to shoot out the valve cover breather. Were you running a window switch?

I agree with 97bowtie. Time for a forged bottom end.

Call it a season before you possibly destroy any more parts.
