Is my LT1 under powered?

I have a bone stock 97 LT1 6 speed. I have a few questions about the power it should have.

Say, from a 10 MPH roll, if i hammer it, should the rear break fairly easy?

The car has crappy xp generals on it, so i would think lighting them up would be easy.

I have a feeling my opti is going, i am starting to get longer start times, and some hesitation through out the RPM range.

I am not all about spinning my tires, i would much rather feel the car put me back in my seat, but it would be nice to make some people look now and then.

Will a new opti bring back my lost power, or is this what i should expect from my car.

So lets hear it, will your stock lt1's break them from a 10mph roll, BTW the cars 108,000 on it.

i have an A4. when my car was stock, i could break mine at 10mph and when it would do the 2-1 downshift and on the 1-2 shift. my tires aren't the greatest and i have a WS.6, shouldn't be much different though

So, i am assuming i'm missing some power somewhere.

I guess a new opti is in my future.

I can't break mine from a 10 mph roll, but that is with 315's. Once
in a while, depending of the road surface, it will light them up.

Your probably fine for power. I couldnt break my tires loose at all when i was stock. I had to pop the clutch to light them up. After i did a few bolt-ons (catback, CAI, HPP3, MAF) I could break them loose part way thru first. Then i added headers and they would break loose thru the 2nd gear shift.

Opti's are not the world's worst here......just to let you know, my car was doing weird stuff, like surging 1300-2000 in 1st, and whatnot, light misses anywhere in the rpm band, anyway, i put in a new opti, i could actually fell a nasty grinding felling when i turned the old one over by hand, you could actually hear it, when the new GM was quiet and smooth, yet when i put it in, all it did was fix the suring and stuff, the "big" problems all the little misses were still there.......picked up no power as well. Just letting you in on my opinion, DON'T change the opti unless you HAVE too. There not that bad of a distributor, i cant believe how good my car was running in comparison to how ****ty the opti was physically.

The car supposedly had a full tuneup in december when i bought it. This i cant verify.

Sometimes it will break easy, it seems to be determined by temp some what. In the morning, the car runs a lot better. When it starts to heat up, it feels like it loses half of its power.

I am ordering a hooker catback soon, and will be doing a homemade CAI.

I thought my opti was going because of the long cranking i have been getting.

I have a 96 m6 with eagle F1's on the back...they won't break loose without using the clutch. I also ran a 14.1 on old crap tires at the track. Which is about what they run stock. Put some 4.10s in there and see how that works

I put down 350 rwhp and i cant break mine loose in 1st. I also have 275 nittos and suspension up the wazoo.

I could spin mine in my old formula like a crazy man, i had 245 eagles with about 300 rwhp.
