My heater doesnt heat all the time!!!

My heater has been giving me problems that last few weeks. Sometimes it heats, sometimes it doesnt. What could be causing this? I have had no fluid leaking into the passenger floorboard, so it cant be the heater core, or could it?

your heater core could be clogged. My heater wasn't putting out anything or just very little heat, then I took the core out from behind the glove comparment. I stuck a water hose to one end, and flushed everything out. I have never seen something so filthy on the inside, gunk ran out of it for at least 10 minutes of constant flushing.

Yep, flush the system out. I had the same problem, now I have GREAT heat! While your at it get rid of that Dexcool crap and put the good Green stuff in. Thats what I did, works great! It heats up faster at idle now then it did this the Dex stuff but also cools faster when I use the manual fans now.

Just use the search function for "heater core" and you'll find directions. I did that very thing about a month ago
