My hawk has been in storage for 5 years! What is the chance........
Yeah,
I'm in the same boat. My Z has been in storage for close to 4 years. I have similar concerns as to whether those teflon rings are going to be toast. Interested to hear any feedback.
I figured i'd squirt some oil down the plug holes and hope for the best

I wouldn't worry to much aobut it just get a fresh battery. The gas will be the only thing that I would worry about. If you need to drain the tank there is a brown wire by the pcm wires that has a black end on it just by itself run 12 volts to it after unhooking the filter line oh and it will shoot out pretty good might want to run a garden hose or something to it in a bucket to catch the fuel. You can also unhook the coil and let the motor crank over unitll you get your oil pressure up. Good luck guys

Or you can just pop off the fuel lines at the fuel rail connection and turn the key to the on position. It'll shoot the gas out.

Also would be a good time to install a new filter.
It's gonna be toast. Just to help you out, I'll take it off your hands and I'll even give you $100. I'm a great guy, huh?
Seriously, I don't know about the rings and such, but the seals and bearings in the suspension, transmission cold get messed up if you don't take it very easy for the first 50 or 100 miles. The grease may have set up and may need a little time to be useful again. I think the heat from being run melts the parts of it that have set up too thick to lubricate properly.
Just be careful and everything should be fine.
