Cool My FIRST night running at the track

I drag raced for the first time tonight at Route 66 in Joliet, IL. My best run:
R/T ... .176
60' ... 2.233
1/4 ... 13.964
MPH ... 101.17

It was so fun. I was so nervous on top of thinking my car was going to overheat. I got to run 5 times and the last was my best even though my engine bogged. Plus I could tell that I should maybe get some gears since I was only turning about 3500rpm when I hit the finish line. Hows that sound for running with street tires, my O2's disconnected, and 109k miles on my tired LT1? Hows my 60'? All my 60's were 2.2 to 2.4, I was either spinning the tires or bogging the engine. Thanks for all comments in advance.

Great numbers!
Get that 60' down and you'll hit or be close to 13.5.

I got 13.933 at like 98 mph in my 93 A4 (back when it was almost stock) just because I had a 1.9 60'. (but your MPH indicates more power which means a potentially better ET with a good 60')
I got that just by reducing the PSI in the rear tires... I think to about 24-26.

Practice, practice and practice is the key.

BTW, how come you went to Route 66 and not Byron? Also, is Route 66 open every day? How much was the entry fee?

Not bad.
My tired old 147k LT1 runs 13.4s at 104 with LTs, CAI, and tuning. It has lots more mods than that but those are the only engine mods.
Get those sixty foots down and you could gain 2 to 4 tenths.

Thanks. I didnt feel like screwing around with the tire pressures so they were prob 30+ psi. Ive never heard of Byron, but Route 66 is 20 minutes from my house. They have Test and Tune on Tuesdays for $11 admission + $25 to run your car. Its kinda pricey, but its worth it if you get there early.

Oops, I read Lockport, but thought of Freeport for some reason.
Anyway, lowered tire pressure makes a big difference. Keep that in mind for next time.

BTW, my first Z (95) was from Lockport.

Good times

Mine ran almost those exact times...13.9 at 101(but I got like a 2.0 60 ft) with similar mods. I hade a K&N FIPK and Borla catback...and that was after quite a few trips to the track
