My DataMaster log, any experts have time to gander at it?

From one of the runs that I logged tonight. There has to be something in there that is causing the car not to run correctly.

As far as the tune goes, i've just adjusted the idle and shift points as well as the speed calibration (correct tire and gear size)

I need to get a base tune for the new cam from either Bryan or Ion, but how much of a difference, really, will this make? Can I drop say, 2 tenths, with one of their tunes? I can't seem to get out of 102MPH and the 13.60's but i'm hoping that it's just because of the basically stock tune.

Reply if you have time to look at one or more and i'll email them to you.

Thanks!

2 logs sent, thanks a lot for taking the time. I'm hoping that a pro tune will yield better results, i'm sure that they will over my relatively stock tune.

I'm not a pro at DataMaster, but I have the program and would like to take a look at it...

Hey-

Few things i noticed.

IMO, you are right on the money for air/fuel ratio. That looks good. Without a wideband, i wouldnt mess with it.

Your timing curve looks good with the exception of 4500-4700 its got a little too much in it at high map (WOT). Pulling up to 7 degrees out in retard. Did it on both runs right after you hit 3rd gear. Thats worth a tenth or two there.

The biggie. It looks like the car has a HUGE miss somewhere in the ignition. Is it shaking and not wanting to rev smoothly when you get on it?

Reason i ask, you are 100% throttle, the rpms should climb linerally. In your graphs, they do climb but not up consecutively. They jump.

EX...

4200, 4300, 4250, 4300, 4400, 4500, 4600, 4500, 4550 etc.

That leads me to believe that something isnt firing properly. Fouled plugs, burnt wire, opti/coil bad etc.

Final thing, that car was HOT going down the track. Weather here is nasty last few days for racing. Incoming air temperature was reading up to 130 degrees and coolant temps were 190-200. How was weather with your best times before the mods?

Good luck, maybe someone else can look them over and see what they find.

Thanks for checking that out. I noticed the RPM's being jagged too but didn't know what to make of it. I can't feel it shaking or anything and it seems to rev smoothly but...

I'll check the wires and pull the plugs this weekend. Possibly a coil issue?

I was hot lapping the car trying to adjust the shift points. Previoulsy I kept hitting the rev limiter before the car would shift so I was working on that. That's probably the reason I was showing up pretty hot.

Bleh, back to the drawing boards.
