The rpm's will jump while its idling sometimes. The main problem is when im giving it part throttle when im driving it will surge badly. The rpm's will dance. It only does this when the car is in operating temp though. The surging stops though when i go WOT. Im stumped. Please help.

 

What cam you have in the car? how may miles, Whats the last thing you did to the car......From what it sounds like with out knowing some stuff...sounds like a leaking injector. Post some more info or so a search

 

The car has 100k on it. It has the stock cam. The last thing i did was 1.6rr's. The injectors were just worked on.

 

I had this same problem and it seemed like it was worse when it was cold outside. I found it to be the MAF. When the MAF is ported and polished (screen removed etc...) it doesn't get a good reading at part throttle. I used a series of screens to "clean up" the air going to my MAF in my home made CAI. It made a huge difference.
I know, your car runs great until it goes into closed loop. You can actually feel it when it does. The engine will start surging and have an occasional stumble off idle. My problem was the poor readings at the MAF. Make sure it is cleaned with electric contact cleaner too. Something may have gotten on it.
Of course, you can check for exhaust leaks, vacuum leaks, and possible loose O2 sensors.

well, i tried to disconnect the MAF to see if it would help and it did not. Any other suggestions?
