Is my 4000 stall too big or too small

I have a Vigilante 4000 and it is actually stalling at 4800. Will this high stall hurt or help my times at the track? Should I get it lowered, raised, or leave it as it is? My mods are: Hotcam kit, Hooker LT's, Borla catback, CAI, MSD 6a, air foil, Crank underdrive pulley, !EGR, !AIR, !cat, tuneing, 3.73's, and I am sure there a couple of things that I am forgetting.

ACK!!!!! That is one

HIGH STALL!!!! LORD have mercy. yeah man, I would totally take it down a notch to a 3500 or so. I have the similar mods as you with a 2800 stall and it does fine.

Driveing on the street isnt a problem because I have a lock up kit. I thought about 4500 was a good rpm range to get the most power out of my combo. I am just curious I dont care about the street driveing I am pretty much asking about the track driveing.

IMHO, a 4000 stall is WAAAAAY too much for a hotcam. I would think you would want a 3200-3500 to get the best 60's. I bought a Coan 10" 3500 about a year ago ($750ish ), put about 1000 miles on it, and now i need a 4000 or so b/c I have a CC306, wanna trade? Seriously Coan converters are pretty badass converters

Dyno.

Find out where your power is, then stall accordingly. I believe the rule of thumb is to get the stall set @ 500 rpm below the peak.

Someone feel free to correct/expound on that..

4000 thats all

actually if its stalling at 4800 thats just a little too much..i would say 4k would be perfect for him if its a trailer queen only...

i have a yank 3000 and on the crack its stalling at/close to 4k and i want more...

what is the STR of the convertor...
