I have posted this subject before and I have also posted on the C&D fourm.. I really need help!
My car at full throttle gets stuck at 4800-5000rpm in every gear.. at 1/4 and half throttle it will shift just fine but when you give it full throttle it gets stuck at what ever Mph you happen to be at. Then it makes some backfiring noises and wont accelerate anymore until you let off the gas. I was thinking that maybe its was a fuel issue (running out of fuel at WOT). I changed my Fuel Filter and nothing changed. I unhooked my vacum line to my fuel pressure regulator and the car did the same thing. Shouldent unhooking this make a diffrence? it has killed all my performance. If i step on it from a stand still it will get stuck before my tires stop spinning, wich kills any kind of forward momentum. I took to a local dealer and he said it was the transmission, But the car makes the same kind of backfiring noise when i rev it to 4800-5000rpm in neutral. Would the car still cut otu and get stuck in Neutral if it was the tranny? I need guys. Anyone who has seen or heard of this before please let me know. This is a problem i need to get fixed. I'm not sure what you mean by gets stuck but it sounds like to me your opti is bad.
How many miles are on your car?
I had a 94 that did something very similar when the opti went out
but it was at a little higher rpm. The car only had about 25k on it.
The opti can go out at any time and has lots of differnet simptoms

By geting stuck i mean.. once it gets to 4800rpm at WOT it makes a popping/backfiring noise and won't shift out or gain speed it just gets stuck.
Also.. my car has 125k mile, this is my first camaro and i have only had a little over a month. What is a opti and how much would it coast?
