Much HP diff. between 24 & 26 lb injectors?
Much HP diff. between 24 & 26 lb injectors?
I just recieved my SVO 24 lb injectors and will be swapping out the stock 26lb ones in my '97 LT1. MadZ28 mentioned he flow tested the SVO's to push just over 25lbs instead of the rated 24.
I wonder if I will lose any performance or response between the stock 26lb'ers and the SVO 24lb'ers.
Though I am not 100% sure about the stock injectors for the '97 being 26lbs, this is what I have found on several parts sources on the internet.

Stock injectors are 24# (or 24.9# if you look at what the PCM is programmed as).
Going to a slightly smaller or bigger injector will not hurt performance at all, nor will it gain anything UNLESS your making a lot more then stock HP and the injectors are near their max duty cycles.
Ford 24# SVO's do push 24#'s at the fuel pressure ford cars use. However on the LT1, we have a slightly hihger fuel pressure, so the "ford" 24# injectors are going to be actually operating at a higher pressure, this means they will be putting out just around 25# of pressure as you mentioned above

FWIW, I'm still running the stock 24# injectors in my 96SS which dynos 399 rwhp and runs 115mph trap speeds. Yes, I'm at the limit I believe
If you aren't near those numbers then like toby360 mentioned, no worries
