Re: MSD Wire Help?

Having done 3 or 4 MSD wire installes I have found that the MSD wire kit includes wires that are PLENTY long enough. Did you use the right wire?

Sounds like you might have used the length needed for that cylinder on another. I'll bet you have at least one other that is longer than it needs to be.

Re: MSD Wire Help?

Short story long, I bought MSD multi-angle wires from Autozone. They were the wrong ones, so I called MSD and spoke to a technician. He gave me the correct part #(I don't recall the #) went back to Autozone and ordered the right ones. Now lets assume that I read directions because I learned my lesson on that one young. MSD says to start from the back of the engine and go forward. That way if I cut one short maybe it will work for the next. Well I didn't realize I should have started on the right bank. So now my last wire #2 is too freaking short. Has anyone ever had mercy on them and been sold a single wire from MSD?

Re: MSD Wire Help?

I guess the obvious question is what part # did the MSD rep give you?

You should have ended up with p/n 32149. Even the shortest wire in the kit is long enough for plugs #1 and #2 (aside from the coil wire). Heck, I think I even had a wire left over. Maybe MSD includes it as a spare.

Re: MSD Wire Help?

Wow MSD has my loyalty til I die. Called them up explained to the tech what I did as I have on here and he said what length do you need? I'll make it up and send it out to you. What great help! No questions as answers or anything!
