MSD w/ Delteq? Will it be needed?

I currently run a MSD 6BTM (don't use the BTM part of it anymore) with a stock coil and Opti on my turbocharged Camaro. It works ok, but the stock system NEEDS the MSD to work right or it blows out the spark during boosted situations. I found this out at the track last year after I disconnected the MSD trying to rule it out as a problem in my ignition system (was the opti) Well I forgot to hook it up and my car was running about a second + slower than usual and I couldn't figure out why. I found the MSD disconnected and went back out and picked up the lost time. Anyway this leads me to my question. I will be upgrading to the Delteq stage 2 when it comes out. I currently have already purchased the Northstar coils and ignition module. Will this multi-coil setup be able to handle boost situations, or will the MSD still be required? Just wondering if anyone has come across this yet?

I don't see why you'd need it, the coil packs take care of all that from what I understand.

I'm looking at getting the Delteq, who did you get the coil packs and ign module from?

Things like MSD CD boxes will not work with the Delteq system.

Also transfering to LT1 Tech, thanks.

I beleive this is the box you will have to tun with the Delteq; MSD Digital DIS-4 - PN 6215
(Designed for use on 6 or 8-cylinder engines with three or four coil packs.)

when you order the box you will have to tell them you are running the northstar ignition.

I just installed the stage 1 on Saturday.

Did you get your coil packs through Delteq or another source, and if so where and how much?

Sweet thanks!

I need 4 coils and an ignition module right?

Is the ign module on this pic? Or is it just small and I don't see it...

Also, I assume you guys mounted it in the location they supply brackets for, down by the radiator?

I made a bracket out of sheetmetal, and custom mounted mine here:

Are those Northstar coils?!?

Edit: Looks like you just turned them so they're all straight across instead

I bought the complete system from delteq. I thought this would be easier then trying to track them down myself. Plus they would be new, I would be less likely to have any trouble that way. Happy to say, it was flawless. First key of the key and she started.

I also talked to Pete about running MSD with this system. He said, it wasn't nessary.
