MSD Placement

Where are you guys putting your MSD ignition module? It would be great if you had pictures of where you put it. Thanks a lot.

I have the Crane HI-6S and a Moroso CAI, I mounted the ignition box right above the K&N. Right about where the stock airbox filter hole is. I do not have any pics but it was a real clean, simple, and invisible install. If you have CAI and your box is roughly 2x3x6 this should work. Good luck.

I put mine just in front of the strut tower on the drivers side...where it dips down. I think I barely had to move the fuel line bracket.

I just checked, and it won't fit in that area.

Sounds good Josh. I may have to take you up on that offer. But I have to replace my fuel pump first. I think it's on it's last leg.

m0nk- How did you secure the unit down? Sheet metal screws? And how long are they? Thanks a lot.

Umm I would say the screws are about 1/4" after the bottom of the msd unit, only has 2 screws on the top R and top L, you can feel about 2 threads sticking out in the wheelwell

Or you could mount it here.

Do you have any better pictures of the unit? It's kind of hard to tell how you mounted it there. Or if you could tell me how you did. Thanks.

No better pics, but it's mounted on top of the plastic mudshield, right near the CAI filter...

Re: MSD Placement

I know this is a really old thread but I was looking at the placement areas here and the black cable that the wiring diagram says to go to the battery negative is too short, do I need to splice another length of cable (what gauge?) or can I just ground it to the chassis?

You can easily ground it to the ground location by the headlights on top of the radiator support.
